FLOWERS
Flowers are a very important element of your wedding. If they are not selected properly, they can real ruin the visual effect you wish to have. I saw at several weddings some really nasty decorations. I understand if you are on a budget, i was also, but you must be smart and follow these two rules:
-
Find out what are the season flowers and see if they fit your color demand
-
Stick to few colors that work well together and keep the focus on only one.
The prices for the flower arrangements are extremely high. And if you have a lot of guests (like i did), the final price can really be a bother.
That's why a used few expensive flowers on the table arrangements and i kept it nice and simple. Everyone loved them! We had 33 (one on each table) and the day after the wedding i found only one left, because the guests took them home.

Bride's Bouquet
I am sure you have been browsing dozens of sites to find the perfect bouquet for you . My wedding was simple, therefore the bouquet was also simple, made out of red roses with a few pearls scattered around. The only thing i didn't like about it was that when i threw it to the single girls, all the roses flew in random places because the buds were set into a sponge and were not a real bouquet, So, if you don't want that to happen, ask the florist on how you want it to be tied up.

The arrangements for the church candles
These were also made out of the same type of flowers that we had on the restaurant tables. I really liked the round shape.

Season flowers
Now let's see what flowers you can use each season:
For Spring (from March until May) You can find :
-
Tulips
-
Hyacinths
-
Peonies
-
Freesias
-
Lilac flowers
Besides the variety of colors, i believe the scents would be amazing. Mmmm!
For summer (June until August) you can use:
-
Roses
-
Lilies
-
Gladiola flowers
-
Sun flowers
-
Lavender
In autumn ( September until November) you will find:
-
Chrysanthemum
-
Dahlias
-
Begonias
-
If you are targeting a rustic effect, i suggest you use different leafs. You can find a large variety of shapes and colors and they're free! :)
In winter (December until February):
-
Amaryllis
-
Orchids
Now, note that all of the flowers mentioned above are available in stores all year round but the prices vary from season to season.
When you are searching for a place for the wedding reception, ask if the flower decorations are in included in the final quote. You might save some money from there.
Have a great day!
