The first dance
Your first dance as a Mr and Mrs is the main event of the wedding, the key moment that highlights the begining of the evening. That's why, it is really important to place aside all the emotions, be happy and just show your love for one another.
Our dance was normal at first but we showed our real selves after the waltz. You can see the whole moment below.
I recommend you take the dancing lessons one month prior to the wedding and not earlier, because you might forget it, if you do not rehears.
Advice for you:
-
Make sure your keep a smile during the whole dance, even if you forget the steps
-
Keep a straight back (that was hard for me as i like to slouch)
-
Pay discrete attention to your legs (so you won't step on him)
-
Make sure your arms are stretched in an elegant manner and your hand sits gently like a flower in his
-
Don't frown or make an angry face if he steps on your dress (because he will, actually almost everyone at the wedding will, so get used to the thought)
Advice for him:
-
Learn the dance completely
-
Don't lean over your girl if you are taller than her
-
Try not to stare at your legs or count the steps (people can tell that are your trying to hard and not enjoying the moment)
-
Try not to step on her dress, i know it's hard but be really, really careful
-
Be as gentle as possible with her, because all eyes are on the bride (even if you don't wan't do admit it, hihi!)

As for songs that are usually used for the waltz, here are some recommandations:
