Secrets of mascara

You can have different lash length results with the same mascara applied. The secret is not the wand of the mascara nor the way the bristles are arranged. The secret is the way you apply it.

„It’s the motion of the ocean that matters..” I know, i know it’s from a different context but it has the same meaning. Hihi!

Now, let see the differences. Below you can observe my eyes without makeup, with mascara applied the normal way on one eye and with mascara applied the ever so perfect way on the other. ^_^

Here, you can barely see that i have lashes.

So let’s get into the steps :

Use a lash curler. Heat it for a few seconds with a blow drier then curl them well.

Apply a layer of mascara like this: rotate the brush while you do zig-zag movements. The whole idea is to separate the lashes and add the substance on the entire length. If you have the habbit of putting the mascara on your lids, try this trick below, shown by Boris Entrup:

Wait 5 minutes, apply another layer like i mentioned above.

When you feel that the mascara is semi dry , press for 10-20 seconds on your lashes to make them stand in the curled position and make your eyes look larger.

So, there you have it! ^_^

I have used Chanel and Astor mascaras and believe me, even if Chanel is a high end product and Astor is a low end one, i prefer Astor.

Never do the mistake of judging a product by it's price. You never know how it will behave in contact with your skin, or in this case, lashes. :)

Other facts about mascara:

If you begin to have clumps of mascara stuck to your brush, dip it in hot water and wash it thoroughly.

The reason mascara dries is that air gets in the recipient. If you rub the brush back and forth to get more substance on it, stop! The only thing you will do is to get more air in there and make it dry faster, therefore you will use it for a shorter period of time. To stop the mascara from getting dry, add a few drops of Visine (eye drops ) in it and it will be like new.

Last but not least, don’t share your mascara. I don’t think it’s necessary to get into the reasons you need to do that.
