Simple and chic hairstyles

It's summer, therefore we have a lot of weddings to attend to. I  have around 6 this year and  honestly, i don't want to wear the same hairstyle every time ...nor do i have the money for this caprice.

So, i searched and searched and i found some great chignons that are super easy to make ( my hair is curly so i never do anything to it, it just stands as it wants, most often like a bush).

I am going to show you today four of them, that were the easiest to make. It will take you around 10/15 minutes to have them ready and the result looks very complex.

First one takes the least time. It's a bun with a twist...literally.  You can see the way you can make the  simple bun here.

The only secret is that you don't use all your hair when making the ponytail and you wrap in an "X" shape the remaining strands, as shown below.

Second is the hairstyle i tend to see more and more these days, as it looks glam and chic, your hair won't make you sweat and it will stay in place all day long.

All you need is a cute hair elastic so that you can wrap your hair around it. I sometimes like to sleep with it on, in order to get fabulous big curls in the morning, without damaging my hair.

Be careful when choosing the elastic because you need it to be a few inches wide so it won't slip or snap easily.

    The steps are:

  • Brush your hair really well

  • Put on the elastic and secure it in the back with two pins

  • Roll the front strands of hair around the elastic carefully. Proceed with the rest of the hair until you reach the back side of the ears

  • Take the remaining hair and gently insert it under the elastic. If you have longer hair like i do,  some strand will come out and ruin the hairstyle. To avoid this situation, fold your hair in half and then place it under the elastic band.

  • Add a flower and you are ready :)

  • Optional step: Move your head on an AC/DC song to check if it's secured :)))

This one looks a little difficult but it's not.  The only difficulty i encountered was when i had to divide the hair.

    So, these are the steps:

  • Brush hair well and make sure it covers nicely all areas.. not like i did. Either i didn't brush it right or i'm  balding :))

  • Twist the strands of hair that cover your ear areas

  • Grab everything in a ponytail

  • Loosen up the tail, divide the hair from the back of your neck, then insert  the tail through it

  • Tighten it up again  and use two pins to secure the updo on the inside. Make sure you use some of your hair color. The only ones i could find were unfortunately pink.

The last one is similar to the previous. The only difference is that you braid the front strands of hair and you don't catch them in the ponytail, you just secure them over/under the updo. I like adding flowers to each hairstyle as it gives you a bohemian and elegant appearance.

You can backcomb your hair to make it look fuller. I did that and forgot to hide the pin...

I used this occasion to try on my wedding gown once again because i thought these chignons are appropriate for the occasion.

If you are a bride on a budget or just wish for a simple and elegant look, these can be some good choices. In the last picture i have one of my pearl necklaces on, used as a headband. I just pinned it really well behind the ears.

So, there you have it. Four really elegant and easy chignons for special occasions or day to to day wear, depending on the accessories you decide to add on.

If you have any questions, let me know. i'm here to help. :)

Hope you have a lovely day ahead!

    Cris ^_^
