Marilyn Monroe Make-up
This lovely lady had an excellent make-up artist who knew and used every trick in the book to make her stand out: Allan Snyder, known as Whitey.
This magnificent fellow used ingenious methods to make her nose look smaller, the lips plumper and her eyes wider.
Below, you can see me, before and after i have applied my make-up. And yes, i was born tired. :)

Now, let's see Whitey secrets:
-
First step was applying some vaseline (ew, right?) on the skin. It made her have a fresh and glowing look. I wouldn't do that, i thank God that someone invented the primer or my face would have looked like a lighthouse. I have a difficult complexion so i have to use oil blotting sheets pretty often.
-
Second was the foundation. Whitey knew that if he had used several shades or foundation, he would have managed to make her face look perfect (heart shaped). I used concealer on my T zone and my chin to make them stand out and a very light shade of brown on my nose to make it look thinner. For contouring,i have used a bronzing powder on the jaw line and under the cheekbones. Marilyn only used light pink/ peach blush in order to look fresh.
-
Eyes... Marilyn had big, sexy vixen eyes, or so it looked like... Here's a picture of her without make-up. I look at it when i feel ugly.. i mean down :)

I don't know why Whitey had this nickname but he sure used a lot of white on Marilyn's make-up. He applied it in the inner corner of the eyes to make them sparkle, under the brows to make them look sharp and he also applied it with a pencil on the waterline.
-
What most people don't know is that he also used a little bit of light brown to make a thin line on the lower lid to make it look like the shadow of the upper lashes. Pretty ingenious, huh? See below. :)

-
Big, luscious, bold red lips. They were her trademark. Did you know that Whitey used up to seven shades of lipstick in order to make her lips look so plump?
This guy was a genius...On the other hand, there was no Photoshop back then so he had to adapt.
I didn't use so many shades but i applied some highlight on the center of my lower lip to make it appear larger.
I also heard that in photo shoots, Victoria Secret models apply it on Cupid's bow (between lips and nose). Pretty neat, huh?
And below you can see my final look. I really love this make-up because it is really easy and it looks pretty fancy.
If you have any suggestions or questions, please let me know.
Have a fabulous day!
Cris :)
